Overview

Dialexton School of Allied Health Professions in collaboration with INTEGRATED HEALTHCARE SOLUTIONS offers Heartsaver® Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course, based on the highest standards and current guidelines of the American Heart Association. Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED is geared towards anyone involved in childcare who have a duty to respond to illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Including: childcare workers, teachers, camp counselors, etc. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years. Please contact your employer to ensure that you are selecting the correct course

  • Recognizing common injuries and illnesses
  • How to find information on preventing illness and injury
  • Legal questions that apply to pediatric first aid rescuers
  • How high-quality CPR improves survival
  • Concepts of the AHA Chain of Survival
  • Recognizing when someone needs CPR
  • Performing high-quality CPR for a child or infant
  • Performing high quality CPR for an adult*
  • Giving effective breaths by using mouth-to-mouth or a mask for all age groups
  • How to use an AED on an adult*
  • How to use an AED on a child
  • How to help a choking child, infant, or adult
